Call 311 and explain the problem. If your entire block has not received service, encourage neighbors to call 311 as well. Remember that trash/recycle pickup will be delayed in weeks with holidays, but should be picked up within two days of schedule under those conditions.

It is preferred that communication amongst the individual parties be the first step because this has best possibility of resolving the issue and maintaining good relationships. In some cases neighbors might not know of the problem and be willing to remedy. If the issue is related to a City of Houston Code violation then notify the City by calling 311.

It is against City Ordinance to block a sidewalk or is parked facing the wrong direction. If there is a problem with a car parked illegally, call 311 to report it and request enforcement of the ordinance. A courtesy call to the person owning the car (if known) would be preferred but not required.

It is against City Ordinance to park a car on a public street for more than 24 hours without moving it at all. If there is a problem with a car parked for an extended time on your street, call 311 to report it and request enforcement of the Ordinance. A courtesy call to the person owning the car (if known) would be preferred but not required.

Call 311 to report graffiti and receive a project reference number. The City will need an exact address including the block number(s) and the address of the nearest building. Email using Contact Us on this website if issue is unresolved after three (3) weeks.
